Captcha is such a weird word

I’d just like to point out that I NEVER plan on using captcha verification on any part of my site. I just went through 4 tries on this Blogger blog before I finally entered the letters correctly. I think the S’s were upper case. Twice, I said out loud, “WHAT is THAT?!Q”. I considered typing in “a monster”, or “upchuck”.
I’ve read posts that said that computers can guess the letters better than humans, and I’ve gotta agree with them. One person testified that they got better spam-protection by requiring people to type “I am human” in a text box. I might require “I am a spambot” in a text box just for craziness.

Wha...? Panda?

After over a YEAR of unannounced hiatus, Skinny Panda by Phil Cho is BACK! I rather missed that guy’s comics. Now let’s see if he keeps it up! I sure hope he does.

Happy Valentine's Day

I went for a walk today and passed a house that has a bunch of cups arranged in their fence to spell out “Merry Christmas”.

SNOW BIFF!

Finally, it snowed enough last night to build... MY SNOW BIFF!
If you’re unfamiliar with The Book Of Biff, it’s a one-panel comic featuring Biff, a guy with huge eyebrows and a crazy-looking line for a mouth, getting into insane accidents and realizing strange things. Great physical comedy, great sight gags, and funny commentary afterward. I’d recommend this for teens and adults.

News of the webcomics world: David Malki!'s short film

David Malki! of Wondermark fame has released a short film on YouTube called "Expendable" that I personally enjoyed, especially having been a temp agent like the main character. Seriously, I recommend this to all temp workers. You'll enjoy it.
I'd rate this film as PG-13 for guns, violence, and a prop that may have been stolen from the set of Austin Powers. You can watch it here.

Home-baked food reviews

Recipe experiment: Baked boneless chicken breast topped with cherry-vanilla ice cream.

Whenever I have seconds of something, like chicken, I like to switch it up a little the second time around, so I topped my chicken with some ice cream I had laying around, which happened to be of the vanilla variety with cherries mixed in. My verdict: really good! At first, I thought it would be fine with simply vanilla, but cherries do add to the chicken, so I’m recommending cherries in there. It’s best if you can get a good chunk of ice cream in each bite.
What we have here is dairy on top of poultry. It has a similar effect to cheese on chicken. With this in mind, I think burger a la mode would be great as well, although I don’t know how cherry mixes with beef. For hamburger, I’d recommend peanut butter ice cream. There are two places just south of Sedalia that sell “Güberburgers”. One, “Wheel Inn Drive-In”, has reportedly moved to South Limit Avenue after their historic location suffered a widening of lanes and thinning of parking space. There’s also “Estes Drive In", which is even further south from Sedalia, I think the next town down. These places prove that peanut butter can be as good a condiment as ketchup. I surprised some kids in high school when I added some to my burger one day(the PB was for the celery sticks).

In conclusion, ice cream on top of chicken is good stuff.

404 comics found

I went a week without power. It took another week just to catch up on all the webcomics I missed. I also finally caught up on my email. I'm still not caught up on the 5 podcasts I listen to. It's a shame the weather is so cold, because I do most of my podcast-listening while going for walks.
*sigh* I might have filled my time with cartooning during the power outage, but candles are totally insufficient as an art light. Also, the thermostat requires electricity, so it was cold. Never draw with cold hands.
Merry Christmas, everybody! It's nice and warm now, plus I have wifi internet flying around my house again.
